Sherem (Sherum) Chainsaw Sharpener Reviews: Is Sherem Legit? Price, Refund Terms and Who Ships It (2026)

Sherem (Sherum) Chainsaw Sharpener Reviews: Is Sherem Legit? Price, Refund Terms and Who Ships It (2026)

The Sherem chainsaw sharpener is a real, common bar-mount tool, but Sherem is a storefront brand, not a toolmaker: the checkout is run from Hong Kong, orders take 10 to 15 business days, returns are on you and its Trustpilot profile is all one-star. Here is what it costs, what the refund policy says, and how it relates to the Sherum, Libiyi and Hatmeko listings.

Is the Sherem chainsaw sharpener legit? The tool is: the Sherem saw sharpener is a real hand-cranked, bar-mounted chainsaw sharpener of a design sold under many names. The store is the part to check. Sherem is a direct-to-consumer storefront whose policy pages point to companies in Hong Kong, orders ship internationally in about 10 to 15 business days, returns are at your cost, and Sherem's Trustpilot profile is entirely one-star. It is a legitimate place to buy if you go in knowing those terms.

Many people search for Sherum chainsaw sharpener reviews, with a u. That is the same product; Sherem is the brand on the checkout page. This guide covers what the Sherem sharpener costs today, what the refund policy actually says, who runs the store and how it compares with the Libiyi and Hatmeko versions. For how the tool performs on a chain, see our Sherem chainsaw sharpener review.

What the Sherem saw sharpener is

The Sherem saw sharpener clamps onto your chainsaw's guide bar and sharpens each cutter with a carbide burr held at a fixed angle while you turn a hand crank. You sharpen a tooth, advance the chain, and repeat around the loop. Sherem's marketing calls it as easy as sharpening a pencil and pitches it at DIYers, lumberjacks and gardeners.

Two things it is not. It is not a general saw sharpener: it works on chainsaw chains only, not circular, table or hand saws. And it is not a replacement for a bench grinder: it touches up the cutting edge but does not reset depth gauges. Our Sherem chainsaw sharpener review covers fit, the two-hole bar requirement and how to get even results.

How much does the Sherem chainsaw sharpener cost?

On Sherem's checkout page, which our link goes to, the prices when we checked were $49.99 for one sharpener, $94.98 for two ($47.49 each), $104.96 for three ($34.99 each) and $124.98 for four ($31.25 each). The crossed-out prices beside them, from $79.99 for one to $319.96 for four, are reference figures, not what people pay.

The page says shipping, sales tax, a tariff fee and InsureShip package protection are settled at checkout, and the order summary did not show a shipping figure before you enter your address. Look at the final total, and untick any package protection you do not want, before you pay. Buying through our link does not change your price.

Expect pressure tactics. The checkout showed a five-minute countdown for an extra 10% coupon that "must be used now", a claim that the coupon is a promotion "only a handful of people receive every week", and an "almost SOLD OUT" pop-up. We saw nothing to back these up. You do not need to rush.

Sherem refund policy and 30-day guarantee, read closely

The checkout page advertises a 30-day guarantee on all unused purchases: send the item back in its original packaging for a full refund or replacement, less shipping and handling. The full refund policy adds the conditions. The 30 days run from the delivery date on the tracking record. The item must be unused and in the same condition you received it, and you need a receipt or proof of purchase.

You pay return shipping, and shipping costs are not refunded. The policy suggests a trackable service or shipping insurance for items over $75 and says the store does not guarantee it will receive your return. Defective or damaged items are replaced free within 30 days of delivery, with no shipping fee for the replacement, if you email support.

In practice, that means the guarantee is mostly for people who never open the box. Once you have used the sharpener on a chain, it is no longer unused, so check the fit on your bar before your first cut. Keep your order confirmation and tracking page.

Who runs the Sherem store?

Sherem's policy pages are a shared template, and the details on them are worth knowing. The checkout lists support@sherem.com. The refund policy and contact page give a different address, support@colapa.com, under the name COLAPA, at Unit 04, 7/F, Bright Way Tower, No. 33 Mong Kok Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The terms of service say the website is operated from Room 702, 7/F, Spa Centre, No. 53-55 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong, and refer to the business as Hilipert.

Sherem is a storefront brand rather than a toolmaker. The same Sherem name sells hummingbird feeders, a DNA Helix bird feeder, a metal garden windmill and a trimmer head, and a related SheremArt store sells a bee hotel and a night-light projector. None of that makes the sharpener a scam, but it tells you who you are dealing with: an online seller of trending products, not a chainsaw brand with a service network.

The shipping page lists DHL, FedEx, YunExpress and Deppon, 1 to 4 days of processing and about 10 to 15 business days to the United States, the UK, Canada and Australia. Order a few weeks before you need it.

Sherem reviews and complaints

Sherem's Trustpilot profile for sherem.com showed a TrustScore of 1.2 from 73 reviews when we checked, and every one of them was one-star. The profile is unclaimed and the company had not replied to any reviews.

Most of those reviews are about Sherem's other products, not the chainsaw sharpener. The repeated complaint is that decorative items advertised as 3D arrived as flat printed pieces. Reviewers also describe poor value, missing parts, being asked to ship a replacement back overseas, being offered store credit, and getting their money back only through PayPal or their card company.

We found no independent reviews of the Sherem sharpener itself. A Walmart listing for a two-hole Sherum sharpener showed 3 out of 5 stars from just 2 reviews, and the review-style pages ranking for Sherem saw sharpener reviews read like marketing copy that links to an "official website". Weigh that thin record against the tool itself, which our review found does a fair job of field touch-ups.

Sherem vs Sherum, Libiyi and Hatmeko

Sherum, and less often Shirem, are misspellings people search for; they refer to this Sherem chainsaw sharpener. Marketplace listings mix the names together, with titles that stack Sherem, Hatmeko, Shirem and Libiyi in one line, which shows how generic the design is.

Libiyi and Hatmeko are separate sellers of a very similar bar-mount sharpener, often for less on Amazon and Walmart. We found nothing showing that Sherem and those sellers are the same company. What the Sherem name gets you is its checkout page and its 30-day terms; what it does not get you is a different tool. If you would rather buy from a marketplace with its own return process, the look-alikes are the fair alternative.

If you want a tested, established brand instead, Bob Vila's testing named the Oregon 410-120 bench grinder chain sharpener its favorite, a powered workshop tool at a different price and a different job. Our Sherem chainsaw sharpener review explains where a bar-mount jig sits next to a grinder and a Stihl 2-in-1 file guide.

Is the Sherem chainsaw sharpener worth buying?

Buy the Sherem sharpener if you run a chainsaw a few times a season, want quick touch-ups at a consistent angle without filing freehand, and are happy to buy from an overseas storefront with slow shipping and a strict return policy. Where it wins: one-click ordering, a real 30-day window for unused items, free replacement of defective units, and multi-buy prices that fall to $31.25 each.

Skip it if you want fast delivery, an easy return after you have used it, or a seller with a strong review record; buy a look-alike from a marketplace or a branded tool instead. For a workshop, our Kelvin multi-tool review covers another compact tool for the drawer. Disclosure: TopCrate earns a commission only if you buy the Sherem sharpener through our link.
